Interested in trying a new type of wool for your next project? Valais Blacknose raw wool is ideal for felting and crafts, and can also be mixed for spinning. Valais is a long-haired breed with longer locks than most sheep. Their wool has very little crimp and light grease. It is a cream color, but it doesn’t have a lot of lanolin so it takes color really well. Only the best bits are included.
Don’t know the rare Blacknose Valais sheep? The breed has been around since the 15th century. They lived in Switzerland until the first embryos/semen were imported to the US only 5 years ago. There are less than 15,000 Valais Blacknose sheep existing in the world. In the US, there are less than 200 Valais F3/F4 (85% Valais or more). Our sheep happily live on a certified organic and regenerative farm in Santa Barbara.
This is RAW unwashed wool. We do our best to get any dirty bits out of it.
